HOW IT WORKS

100 Kids Who Care Weyburn is a giving circle with a vision to teach and inspire the next generation to give back to the community they live in. Kids will learn that happiness comes from making a difference in other people's lives. They will feel empowered to make their own choices throughout the process and learn valuable speaking and leadership skills. We desire to teach kids that no matter your age or wealth, they can make a difference.

~ Kid-members ages 4-17 commit to attending up to 4 events per year

~ Kid-Members donate $10 at each meeting and 100% of their donation is given to charity.

~ Each kid member has the option to nominate a local charity or cause to support. Nominations must be received at least a week prior to the event.

~ 3 of the nominated charities will be selected and the kid who nominated them will be asked to present and speak about their charity for 1-2 minutes at the event. Parents are encouraged to help their kid(s) prepare and are welcome to join them, but it’s our preference that the kids do the presentation to their peers – it’s a great learning opportunity and confidence building activity!

~ Kid-members in attendance will vote for the charity they would like to support (parents can help explain each charity to their children and help them make their vote but we would like it to be their choice).

~ Majority rule – the charity with the most votes will receive the collective donation of $1000 (or more)!

~ Kids are encouraged to earn the $10 if possible (ie. chores, allowance, taking in bottles, selling some stuff, birthday money etc.)

~ The $10 must be in the form of bills, no coins please.
